TherolewillbejoiningaleadingsoftwarehouseincentralBath,buildingandmaintaininginfrastructurefortheirSaaSproducts.TheyareintheprocessofinvestingheavilyintheirtechnicalenvironmentandarelookingforanInfrastructureEngineerwhocanhelpwithnewtechimplementations. Coreresponsibilitieswillinclude: Maintaininghostinginfrastructure(ensuringavailabilityofweb,databaseandmessagingsystems) Managingservers(acrossdevelopment,testandproduction) Monitorrespondtoinfrastructureevents(suchasavailabilityandcapacitymanagement) Beproactivewithinfrastructureupgrades Thetechnicalenvironmentlookslikethis: AWS cloudinfrastructure(AWSexperiencewouldbeidealbutAzure/GCPalsoconsidered) MajorityWindows/someLinuxservers NginX,IIS,virtualisation,webservices ActiveDirectory/DNS/DHCPetc. MSSQLServer PowerShell TheywillbemovingtowardsworkingwithInfrastructureasaCode( Terraform )andcontainerisation( Docker );theywouldeitherbelookingforsomepreviousexperienceoradesiretolearn.
