IT Systems & Infrastructure Security Analyst

Due to an internal promotion, our client, whom is an exciting research & development organisation, is looking for a new IT Systems & Infrastructure Security Analyst or a Cyber Security Analyst, with a genuine interest in the wider IT framework and how security interlinks with a large complex organisation.

The role would ideally suit someone, whom has a genuine interest & passion in developing their IT/Cyber Security career into a very autonomous position, where you will be actively encouraged to not only research & configure cyber security tools (predominantly Microsoft based), but also explore IT Security best practice across the entire IT infrastructure, working closely with the other internal teams. You will also work closely with 3rd party suppliers, whom look after the SOC and at some points be the subject matter expert on how the IT systems will link with external research organisations. Therefore, you really do need to be very self-motivated & enjoy finding the best cyber security solution to a problem, & are not a process nor procedure only type person as there is no micromanagement here!

A fantastic opportunity for either a SOC Engineer/Analyst to take a step up into a Cyber Security Analyst role with more responsibilities & options for personal development OR for an IT Infrastructure Support Engineer/Analyst whom has worked with Microsoft Security tools/systems to again focus on a role dedicated to IT Security in a wider organisation. It may also suit a current Cyber Security Analyst, whom feels restricted in their current role & is looking for more autonomy.

Other duties will include monitoring information security & distributing to relevant touch points; maintenance of Security tools, such as SIEM, IDS, DLP etc; generate & monitor security information dashboards, researching/reviewing and implementing IT/Cyber Security information solutions and tools; an interest in learning & contributing to penetration testing; keeping up to date with security threats, detection, trends and innovations.

Experience required:

• A genuine interest/passion in Cyber Security within IT Infrastructure and Systems
• Background in Microsoft Security technologies & tools
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills
• Experience in any/combination of SIEM, Defender 365, Sentinel, DLP, IDS
• Incident Response & Management in IT Security
• Extremely important that you can work autonomously
• Willingness and ability to learn quickly
