ICT Mobile Services Engineer

Job summary

The post holder will report to the ICT Mobility Services Team Lead and be part of a busy team providing mobility services to staff of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB). This is an exciting time for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board as mobile technology is adopted to deliver digital patient facing services within the context of multiple health board wide mobilisation projects.

The team will provision, maintain and support mobile devices and their infrastructure but also be customer focused in delivering an effective and efficient service. The successful post holder will provide a high level of technical expertise to both the Mobile Services and other ICT teams so that the Mobility Service meets the changing needs of the organisation as the workforce becomes more mobile in order to meet the Digital Health and Social Care and Clinical Futures Strategies.

The team provision, maintain and support mobile devices and their infrastructure but are also customer focused in delivering an effective and efficient service. The successful post holder will provide a high level of technical expertise to both the Mobile Services and other ICT teams so that the Mobility Service meets the changing needs of the organisation as the workforce becomes more mobile in order to meet the Digital Health and Social Care and Clinical Futures Strategies.

The post requires a self -motivated individual, who is able to effectively manage and able to demonstrate excellent customer service; able to demonstrate an aptitude for mobile technology; have excellent planning skills; good administrative skills and the ability to manage their time effectively ensuring all roll out targets are met by set deadlines.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree level of education or equivalent level of experience and knowledge
Desirable
  • Technical ICT qualification
  • ITIL V3 Foundation in Service Management

Experience

Essential
  • Significant understanding of mobile phone / Smart phone technology and MDM (Mobile Device Management) Systems
  • Relevant experience in a mobility support or ICT support environment
  • Good knowledge of mobile apps and app store from multiple vendors and device types
  • Good knowledge and experience of mobile devices & their configuration via MDM
  • Good knowledge and experience of securing mobile devices and general security principles
  • Knowledge and exposure to ITIL methodology in a work based environment
  • Significant experience of technical ICT work
Desirable
  • Detailed technical knowledge of MDM platforms and their uses
  • Experience of working on large scale mobile device deployment projects
  • Management of mobile device service within agreed SLA's
