Birmingham Stopper- Level 3 Toolmaker Apprenticeship

Working as a key individual on site at Birmingham Stopper to support and develop a robust maintenance program across the site. The role will involve working with Press tools, welding equipment and fixtures, laser Cutting machines, skills will be developed to ensure the individual can support the tooling and fixtures used on site.

Role

  • Supporting and improving current Tooling maintenance program across site
  • Maintaining tooling and controlling ongoing preventative maintenance working
  • Develop key spares area and control of stocks – clear links with suppliers
  • Supporting any break downs to reduce downtime – lost time on machines
  • Supporting new work and business opportunities with Engineering team
  • Supporting tooling buy off and home line production runs to approve tool changes and new tooling
  • Working with all teams across site to ensure we work safely and follow on site PPE and all equipment is in safe condition to use

Training

Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham in year 1
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
  • Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
  • In house training in line with your requirements
