IT Infrastructure Technician (Bank)
Job summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual to join our bank as an Infrastructure Technician (End User Computing). The ideal candidate for this position needs to be an excellent problem solver with strong IT skills. In addition, they should enjoy a challenge and be able to stay on top of several tasks simultaneously. The hours are flexible up to 37.5 hours per week as required.

The role is predominantly to support the final stages of the Microsoft Office 365 roll-out, liaising and supporting clinical areas during in transition. The role will also agree lists of staff to be migrated at the same time, to minimise operational disruption.

This role is part of the Trusts Informatics Team and the post-holder will support the provision of 3rd tier IT support and maintenance for all Trust departments within the IT Infrastructure discipline (Networks, End User Computing or Data Centre) to which they are assigned. This will also involve updating and managing incidents within the IT Service Desk ticketing system. The post holder will also be responsible for investigating reported faults, maintaining communications and liaising with users to effect appropriate repairs and achieving a satisfactory conclusion to faults within designated timescales and quality of service standards. The post holder is also required to analyse IT problems and design, test, document and implement appropriate solutions.

Person Specification
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years working in an IT Infrastructure environment
- Understanding the culture of the NHS
- Experience of working in a IT Servicedesk or Helpdesk environment
- Experience of working in an IT support environment
- Customer Care experience
Skills
- Ability to understand and interpret user requirements and develop and communicate appropriate responses
- Presentation Skills, Teaching and Training in use of IT
- Good organisational Skills
- Legible Handwriting
- Ability to influence people and decisions.
Knowledge
- Expert knowledge of current Microsoft PC and Server Operating Systems
- Expert knowledge of application software
- Knowledge of PowerShell and Batch scripting
- Knowledge of application packaging, deployment, and testing.
- Knowledge of PC management software (ZENworks/SCCM/WSUS)
- Knowledge of PC based management and configuration utilities
- Experience of supporting Microsoft Exchange environments
- Knowledge of ITIL services management

Qualifications
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent*
- GCSE Maths and English (Grades A - C) or equivalent
- ITIL Foundation Certificate
