Apprentice Engineering Technician - Technical support - Quality control

This rewarding career requires a broad skill set - math, mechanical design, interpreting technical drawings and programs, eye for detail - to properly transform a metal casting into a valuable working machined part. It’s a unique fusion of digital and physical, brains and hands-on work.

Role

Apprentice Quality Engineers work to ensure that CMS Cepcor products meet all quality standards before they reach the customer. Through inspection and process improvement, you will work together with all departments across the business to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved.

During your apprenticeship, through on-the-job training and studies, you will learn:

  • Methods of inspection of a wide range of components produced in-house and from our external suppliers
  • The use of manual inspection equipment such as: internal micrometers, external micrometers, depth gauges, verniers
  • The use of advanced inspection equipment such as: CMMs, Portable CMM arms, 3D scanners & probes
  • How to analyse drawings and technical data to determine critical areas of interest or dimensions
  • How to identify non-conforming products or processes, and how to use problem solving skills to determine the root cause of the issues, as well as proposing actions to prevent their recurrence
