Building Services BIM Apprentice
Role
Joining the Building Information Modeling (BIM) team you will:
- Learn how to manage and coordinate the use of BIM throughout the design stages
- Work closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice ensuring that BIM models are accurate, consistent, and up to date
- Under the guidance of our team of experienced engineers, we’ll equip you with understanding BIM processes and standards so that you can support with training project team members on BIM software and workflows, and facilitating communication and collaboration between different disciplines
- Also learn how to develop BIM Models effectively for other required as-built documentation such as COBie data or classification systems
As you develop your technical engineering skills with us on real-life projects, working four days of the week with one day-release to study for the appropriate academic qualifications at a local college/university.
Beyond your apprenticeship Cundall can offer you support towards achieving chartership status with CIBSE or IMechE, and in the long-term the opportunity for a truly rewarding and exciting career.
Training
You will gain a Level 6 Building Services Design Engineering Degree with Coventry or Birmingham University. This is one day a week, day release.
Based in our Birmingham office you will also be trained on software and modelling systems as well as receiving support from your team and Learning & Development.
Functional skills if required.
Once the apprenticeship has been completed you will be promoted to an Engineer grade level and take on further responsibilities as well as supporting new apprentices within the business to help gain mentoring/managerial skills.

- STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics) A Level or equivalent, grade A* - C (Desired)
- Building Services Design Technician BTEC or equivalent, grade Level 3 (Desired)
- UCAS Points Other, grade 96 - 104 Points (Essential)
- HND Other, grade Building Services/Engineering (Desired)
