Delivery Manager
Cedar is seeking an interim Delivery Manager to join the DDaT division of a central government organisation based in the South West. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Transforming Service Management strategic action alongside a team of service management professionals and senior stakeholders.
Daily rate: £390 - £500 Inside IR35
Working pattern: Hybrid - 2 days in the office
Duties
- Ensure the organisation has the required governance frameworks, adaptive cadence, and opportunity for knowledge share to existing employees for effective delivery of a critical multi-year programme of work. Focusing on the following areas:
- Service Management Practices
- Data Governance / Management
- Common Service Data model - ServiceNow
- Adapt ITSM best practice focused on value and solving current business problems.
- Improve process across the Critical Service value chain (identification methodology, SLA, OLA, UPC, resource and supplier alignment).
- Implement a Service Management Office.
- Work alongside and support the development of the authorities Change Management capability.
- Write or input into business cases and communicate business-value propositions.
- Identify and challenge organisational processes of increasing complexity and unnecessarily complicated.
- Lead a continual planning process in a complex environment beyond product delivery.
- Negotiate and communicate with stakeholders across all levels, managing expectations and moderating discussions about high risk and complexity within constrained timescales.
- Optimise the delivery flow of teams, actively addressing complicated risks, issues, and dependencies.
Essential Requirements
- ITIL qualification or be able to demonstrate a clear knowledge of ITIL policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated expertise in leadership and management of projects/and or teams use of initiative to develop project work and develop new areas of the service to sell.
- Ability to effectively manage budgets/resources and enforce proper financial controls, showing sound business judgement.
- Excellent communication skills, including persuasion and negotiating skills.
- Experience of leading and managing staff with the ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise accordingly whilst working within continually changing parameters deadlines and targets.
