Validation Officer
Job summary
We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and hardworking Validation Officers to join our Data Quality & Assurance Team, as part of a wider Information department.
You will work within a team of Pathway/18wks Validation Officers, Data Quality Administrators, Access Governance Managers and Data Quality & Assurance officers to help deliver the Trusts aim to 'ensure EKHUFT data is Trusted, both internally and externally', referenced in the Trusts Data Quality & Assurance Strategy.'
With support from the Head of Corporate Information & Assurance together with the Data Quality & Assurance Lead you will help improve Data Quality, Validation and Assurance for the Trust.
Main duties of the job
As Validation Officer the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day validation of data used for monitoring operational standards. The post holder will be responsible for the effective administration and management of Trust reports - improving and maintaining the quality of data captured and the processes for its validation, to monitor pathways and Operational Standards.

Job responsibilities
Understand Operational Standards data validation, showing a highly developed specialist knowledge within this field, particularly in 18wks/RTT and Data Quality.
Ensure that this specialist knowledge is kept up to date and changes in legislation or national and local policy are communicated effectively to staff at all levels within the organisation, including presenting complex information to groups as necessary to ensure consistency and conformity with regulations.
Assist with the development of the Validation Team as required to ensure the Trusts Validation needs are met, including motivating and training staff as necessary to ensure consistency and quality.
Responsible for timely and robust validation of data used to measure the Trusts position against national Operational Standards. Responsible for identifying areas where improvements and/or adaptations to systems to input, store and disseminate information can be made in order to increase quality and validate data more effectively.
Deliver ad hoc reporting as required, without interrupting the regular programme of validation and reporting.
Assist with routine validation to ensure timescales are adhered to.
Undertake audits and monitoring of data to ensure the standards are maintained and support service development, quality and improvement.
Contribute to training programmes to ensure Trust Staff are:
- enabled to use PAS to collect the highest standard of data at patient level
- aware of how the data they collect is used and affects patients and the Trust.
Work with the Corporate Information Team to ensure existing and future reports and monitoring tools for Operation Standards are of the highest quality and fit for purpose.
Provide support and specialist knowledge to ensure any processes, including data collection and analysis, around Operational Standards reporting are adapted to new or developing Trust information systems.
Undertake any other duties as commensurate with the grade and additional responsibilities as dictated by the changing nature of the role following consultation with the Validation Manager.
