Director of Change Management

Your new company
Hays Specialist Recruitment are recruiting an ambitious Director of Change Management on a permanent basis to join a large and transforming national health and social care charity based across the UK. This key role will report directly into the Executive Director and can be worked remotely with some travel to sites across England and more specifically across Leeds/London and Manchester.

Your new role
The new Director of Change Management will deliver significant, multi-faceted programmes, incorporating contract and product implementations and mobilisations across a portfolio of services across the wider organisation.


You will be responsible for supporting and translating the organisations strategy and business plans into an overall portfolio of projects, implemented with associated governance and controls that drive quality, ambition and efficiency to meet the business needs.


You will bring your significant experience of working in similar roles, adopting best practice to deliver high standard project management and resource control for all relevant and required change programmes. This includes product implementation and contract mobilisations from point of initiation through to delivery and continuous improvement.


You will lead the Change Management Team of around 22 project and change professionals, being responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the team. You will be a strong and empowering leader with experience of service improvement, transformation delivery, responsibility, and oversight.


You will work with key stakeholders to deliver the change requirements of the organisation, ensuring that required changes in delivery, impact, capacity, capability, and techniques are understood, defined, planned, and implemented. You will be a real ambassador for change and be regarded as a key influential leader across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of leading large scale business change in a multi-site organisation
  • Experience of leading transformation and service improvement programmes and projects
  • Experience of project management approaches, and utilising them as they fit to the organisation's context
  • Knowledge of change management best practice structures, risk analysis, and resource allocation
  • Experience and knowledge of cultural change approaches to ensure robust and well received implementation of new ways of working for the end user
  • Able to communicate across the organisation to all colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Project qualification such as Six Sigma, Prince2, Agile would be advantageous
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills such as KPI / performance data analysis experience would be ideal
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a dynamic environment
  • Strong leadership skills to develop and lead project and change professionals effectively
  • Experience of delivering large scale digital transformation would be advantageous
