Data Centre Systems Engineer

Head Resourcing is looking for a Data Centre Systems Engineer to join one of Scotland's biggest success stories. This role will be worked on a hybrid basis in Glasgow and will be involved in building, deploying, and running industry leading digital systems.

In this role you will be part of our client's digital infrastructure team, responsible for the design, build, and management of an extensive hybrid datacentre environment. This will feature an array of computer and storage platforms deployed across multiple on-premises datacentres, as well as PaaS and IaaS services across multiple cloud providers.

Essential skills and Responsibilities:

• Managing server and storage platforms in the datacentre
• Installation, configuration and upgrading of Windows Server operating systems
• Using VMWare to manage server deployments
• Deploying and automating patch management across the server estate
• Managing and updating Active Directory, DNS/DHCP services
• Monitoring system performance and taking corrective actions
• Managing the backup and recovery of servers and data
• Third line support duties including incident management
