Information Governance Compliance Officer

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for two Information Governance Compliance Officer's to join our team on a fixed term contract for 6 months.

The post-holder's will be required to provide effective expert advice to colleagues and members of the public with regards to information governance requirements, standards and processes; ensuring the trust operate in line with best practice procedures at all times.

The Information Governance Team is responsible for providing expert advice, guidance and services to the Trust covering a number of dimensions: all organisational and personal data; developing new processes and policies; best practice; legal and statutory responsibilities; training and education relating to data and information usage; incident management; compliance reporting; annual assurance submissions and any additional measures or structures required to support this.

Main duties of the job

As an IG compliance officer you will be involved in all aspects of data governance for the trust. You will advise services on the best way to process and share information whilst maintainingcompliance with all data protection legislation and NHS standards. They will be responsible for assessing and responding to complex requests for information on a routine basis while acting as the first point of contact for staff in other services.

You will ensure the Trust operates effectively by being responsible for providing specialised support to staff at all levels, such as developing and monitoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the services provided to the Trust and act as the specialist in this area, adapting and changingthese as services evolve.

In addition, you will engage with quality and service improvement through auditing, assessing, addressing and communicating issues, trends or opportunities to identify improvements; reflecting on own and others' practice; contributing to strategic planning; identifying new ways of working or potential efficiencies; using analysis to improve decision-making and supporting the team to provide services by minimising clinicians' and senior leaders' time taken by administration responsibilities.
