Technical Quality Engineering Apprentice

Technical Support Apprentice required to join Metal Assemblies to work within quality control and learn all aspects related to this. Including liaising with quality inspectors and carrying out quality assurance procedures, see job description for more information.

Role

The company is looking to recruit a Technical Support apprentice to carry out the following duties:

  • Gain knowledge on KPI measures and how the impact on company profitability
  • Prioritise own workload
  • Gain knowledge in the correct use of measuring equipment and methods in relation to Metal Assemblies products
  • Assist and gain knowledge of Gauge Calibration procedures
  • Gain knowledge on containment procedures in the event of a product quality concern
  • Liase with quality inspectors/engineers in a proactive manner
  • Carry out all required quality assurance procedures and to ensure that all records are accurately maintained under supervision of the Quality Inspector
  • Communicating with people inside and outside of the organisation in the most efficient manner to ensure accurate provision of information . This can be done in person, telephone or via email
  • Ensure Quality inspectors/Engineers are kept informed of all problems in the department that arises
  • ‘Hand in hand’ with progression at In-Comm to take n more ‘Quality Engineering’ tasks such as product problem resolution and involvement in Product Introduction
  • Ensure that you wear correct PPE where applicable.

Training

  • This is a Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship, Technical Support pathway, delivered over a period of 4 years. 

Mandatory qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
  • The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG, 2.5 days per week for the first two years, and the company for the rest of the time.
  • Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, potential to progress to a Senior Quality Engineer within the company.
