Engineering Technician: Mechatronics Apprentice
We are looking for our 2024 intake of Engineering Apprentices to shape the future of our Engineering function at Marshalls.
Role
- This 4-year Engineering Apprenticeship will cover a structured course provided by a local college with support from your mentors on site. Whilst on our manufacturing-site you'll be given a tailored training plan to work through, supported by both your allocated mentor and your manager. On a day-to-day basis you'll be given greater exposure to your division and the roles of your team members.
- Your first year will involve attending college 2 days per week and on-site 3 days per week, so you would need to make sure you can commute to both Halifax site and Kirklees College, HD1 3LD.
- You will work as part of a busy engineering team with the ultimate goal of becoming a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer.
Training
Initial 36-week block in College three days a week to complete Level 2 Foundation Competence
Level 3 Development Knowledge one day a week over following two years
Level 3 Development Competence evidenced and signed off by Trainer/Assessor in the workplace
The final year will involve completion of a portfolio and preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA). This measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the standard and is carried out by ESFA approved organisations independent from the college.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this prior to taking the End Point Assessment.
All apprentices will be required to achieve as a minimum:
- An employer approved Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
- An employer approved Level 3 Development Competence qualification
- An employer approved Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification
- We will provide you with full support along your 4-year Apprentice journey, progressing you towards becoming a fully qualified Multi Skilled Engineer with a permanent job following a successful apprenticeship.
