Radiotherapy Physics Technologist Apprentice (Healthcare Science Associate Practitioner)

You could be new to Radiotherapy Physics, a motivated candidate with a physical science or engineering interest, if this is you we would love to hear from you! We are looking to appoint into a band 4 Radiotherapy Physics Technologist Apprentice to join the established, friendly and enthusiastic team of 22.

Role

Key duties are providing technical services in Radiotherapy Physics, which may include:

  • Radiotherapy treatment planning using specialised software
  • Quality control measurements to confirm treatment equipment performance
  • Work in a workshop to aid in the making of devices to support Radiotherapy
  • Support to theatre activities

Training

We will aid and support you in completing a Healthcare Science Practitioner Level 6 Apprenticeship with the University of the West of England (Bristol). The apprenticeship is a three-year course resulting in a specialist qualification in Healthcare Science, providing the theoretical and practical skills required for a career as a Clinical Technologist in HealthCare Science.

The apprenticeship programme is delivered via a blended approach, including a mix of online and face to face learning (travel to the university campus will be required on occasion, this will be funded by the department).

Possible further development for progression within technician roles and within Medical Physics.

Qualifications

  • Access to Higher Education Diploma including STEM Other, grade Merit in at least 15 credits (Desired)
  • T Level in Healthcare Science or Science Other, grade A-C in core components (Desired)
