CNC Machinist apprenticeship
The company is a Precision Engineering facility, specialising in one-offs and low volume, high value, high quality products. We are now looking for an apprentice to learn milling, turning, CNC machining skills, as well as a variety of other manufacturing techniques.
Role
This apprenticeship will provide the apprentices with experience in working in a range of roles throughout the product lifecycle to help build their knowledge of our products as well as gaining an appreciation of our manufacturing techniques. Throughout the apprenticeship, apprentices will gain experience in areas of the business including:
- Bench fitting
- Milling
- Turning
- CNC machining (setting and programming)
- Spline grinding
- Programming skills
- Reading engineering drawings
- Undertaking relevant calculations and interpreting information to meet customer requirements
- Comply with HSE and quality processes/procedures
Training
- This is a level 3 Machinist apprenticeship which will delivered over a 4 year period
- The apprentice will be required to attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG, 2.5 days per week for the first two years as part of the training
- Level 3 Extended diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge)
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Machining) (Development Technical Knowledge)

- We will observe the apprentices throughout their apprenticeshp to identify where their skills fit best within our production environment
- Each area has specific skills, which are all valued within our business
- These positions are being created to support future succession planning and so there is possibility to progress through the grade system after the apprenticeship scheme, as the apprentice grows their skills and knowledge and are able to apply what they have learned
- There is potential to move onto Level 4 HNC
