Java Engineer

Role: Java Engineer
Location: Hybrid Working/ flexible approach to location.

Salary / Rate of pay: £40-60,000 DOE

Platinum recruitment is working with a market leading insurance company going through a period of growth and are looking for talented, dynamic Java Engineers to play a key role in testing, developing and maintaining key functions within the business.

What's involved?

• Design, develop, and implement robust Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Create and maintain clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
• Develop and implement unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality.
• Utilize software management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) for efficient project tracking and collaboration.
• Work collaboratively with other engineers, designers, and product owners to deliver solutions on time and within budget.
• Build and maintain APIs utilizing web services protocols like RESTful, SOAP, and JSON.
• Manage and maintain code versions using Git version control system.
• Support live applications and software delivery life cycles.

What you need:

• Extensive experience in Java programming language (minimum 3+ years).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles (OOP).
• Proven experience with Spring Boot framework for building APIs.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit).
• Proficiency in using software management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Familiarity with Git version control system.
• Experience with web services protocols (RESTful, SOAP, JSON) a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• An understanding of the insurance industry and processes.
