Fire and Security Apprentice Engineer
Role
You will assist in providing our clients with complete management of the Fire & Security System lifecycle including the Design, Installation, Commission and Maintenance phases.
You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team meeting tight deadlines.
You should be committed to developing new skills and gaining knowledge of the fire and security industry.
The ideal candidate will need the confidence to deal with clients in a professional manner, be reliable, adaptable, conscientious and able to follow instructions.
The starting wage would be £6.40p/h during the first year for applicants age 18 and under, or £8p/h during the first year for applicants 19+.
Training
South Central Fire Ltd offer on the job training related to the following areas:
- Training by their engineers both on site, and on occasion in the office, on a daily basis
- Training to meet the high standards of the company as well as the requirements of British Standards
- Access control
- Fire Alarms and System
- Installation, repair and maintenance of fire and security alarm systems
- Skills for Security offer the following, based on training at out Watford training centre once every 8 weeks:
- Delivery of the classroom portion of the level 3 Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician apprentriceship
- Completing all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
- Complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you can expect to be working independently, but still very much part of the team if you are offered a full time position.
