Governance Officer - Apprentice

Role

  • Entering and maintaining information on systems and files to ensure that information is up to date and in the right place, including in relation to group insurances, charges, guarantees and litigation
  • Answering standard enquiries and act as a point of contact internally and externally, providing information to stakeholders.
  • General Filing of documents
  • Filing of documents at Companies House using paper and online systems, under direction
  • Production of statutory minutes and registers
  • Assisting with the administration of the group’s insurance programmes
  • Maintenance of all company registers, records and legal documents
  • Assisting Finance with the completion of bank mandates for new accounts and changes to existing accounts
  • Processing invoices and dealing with authorisation of such
  • Assisting with KYC requests from both internal teams and external agencies
  • Assisting with the execution of documents, both online and in person.
  • Any other general administrative activities that arise in the day-to-day business
  • Assisting with the smooth operation of the Quarterly Board meetings
  • Meeting coordination including preparing agendas, collating briefing notes and tracking actions
  • Liaising with report contributors in order to collate all submissions as per agreed timelines
  • Building of board and committee packs and the circulation of these packs within agreed timeframes
  • Maintaining records and logging all previous meeting materials
  • Assisting with the circulation of minutes and actions
  • To undertake other reasonable responsibilities and projects as instructed by the Group Head of Legal and Company Secretary

Training

Training will follow the 18-month Apprenticeship pathway, whereby the successful candidate will be very quickly immersed into the world of Governance, interacting with both internal and external stakeholders in addition to other teams across the Group.

Time will be provided for training with our appointed training provider and upon successful completion of the programme a Level 4 Apprenticeship qualification in Governance will be achieved. This will allow the successful candidate to progress onto professional qualifications from the Chartered Governance Institute.

  • At the end of the apprenticeship, there will be the opportunity to join the team on a permanent basis.
