Quality Assurance Apprentice Engineer
Role
You will then progress onto the shop floor to complete your Level 3 in the Inspection Department reporting to the Chief Inspector.
Tasks include:
- Completing component first off’s for machine operators
- Completing full batch inspections
- Completing relevant paperwork
- Operating the Gauge Stores & Kardex storage system
- Gauge calibration
Training
An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Engineering Technician Level 3, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.
Your first year completing Level 2 will be spent in our in-house training school learning basic machine and hand fitting skills as well as Inspection techniques.
You will complete your College Course units on a Day release basis.
As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.
After a period of foundation skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
After a further period of skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Product Design and Development
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
Our apprentices progress onto all areas of the company and will have the opportunity to undertake a HNC upon successful completion of their level 3 qualifications with merit and distinction grades.
