Heritage Engineering Technician Apprenticeship (Classic Vehicle Coachbuilding)

This Coachbuilding Engineering Apprenticeship vacancy offers a unique opportunity to work with an established team of highly specialist restoration engineers. The successful applicant will assist with the repair, restoration, modification and preservation of a range of classic vehicles including Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin and Jaguar.

Role

This apprenticeship combines old-school coachbuilding with the use of cutting-edge technology. Apprentices will be taught about:

  • The history and development of materials and vehicle construction
  • Hand skills, technical drawing and pattern development and welding
  • Fabrication including bending, folding, shrinking and stretching
  • Wheeling, making bucks, removal and replacement of components

The successful applicant will work with Master Coachbuilders building unique iconic vehicles.

Training

  • The ‘Heritage Engineering Level 3 Apprenticeship’ is a nationally recognised qualification delivered by ‘HSA’ from its Coachbuilding Academy based at ‘Brooklands Museum’ in Surrey
  • Delivered over 36 months on a block release basis, you will attend your academy on average every 5 weeks for a 5-day block of training running from Monday to Friday, the remaining 80% of the time you will be working with your employer
  • If required, your employer will cover the Accommodation and travel costs
  • On completion of the Programme, you will be qualified as a Heritage Engineering Technician. Employment with Tudor Black Coachworks after completion of the apprenticeship is not guaranteed but very likely, subject to performance and a position being available
