Senior Infrastructure Support Specialist Band 7
Job summary
As an experienced IT professional, you will work within the Digital Infrastructure team, leading and managing a new team of Infrastructure Technicians. With responsibility for providing support to all aspects of infrastructure, including, server, network and EUC functions. This role will work closely with our team of senior leads with a specific focus on delivery of the trusts key programmes and projects.
This is a newly created role that reflects the size and scale of work toward Enabling Infrastructure Technologies programme that will provide the foundation for the implementation of the EPR.
The Trust is investing heavily in improving its infrastructure to ensure it can meet the requirements of a modern, digitally mature organisation and has committed significant funding to achieving this over the next few years. This will be the largest digital infrastructure deployment, in the history of the Trust, and one of our largest and most significant long-term investments.
The role will be required to engage with all Lincolnshire organisations as we increasingly work together towards adopting common standards and capabilities.

Essential Skills & Experience
Knowledge & understanding of modern technologies, operating systems, system tools, device architecture & peripherals including but not limited to:
Server & Service Technologies including: - Microsoft / Azure / Office 365 / Exchange
- Microsoft Server, Active Directory, PKI, DNS, DHCP, GPO, PowerShell, AO VPN
- Enterprise Backup and Recovery
Dell Technology including: - PowerEdge / PowerStore / VxRail / PowerScale/ OME / Connectrix
VMware Technology including: - Server and Desktop virtualisation, NSX, vRealize

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in an ICT related subject or equivalent experience.
- ITIL Foundation Qualification or equivalent experience of IT service management.
- Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
- Evidence of professional qualification in leadership and management or experience managing and developing teams.
- Project Management Qualification e.g. Prince 2 Foundation
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Certification.
- ITIL Expert or Capability Level qualifications Healthcare leadership qualification
Previous Experience
- Significant specialist knowledge of managing large-scale enterprise ICT infrastructure and critical systems.
- Experience of effective team working
- Experience of Cisco and/or VMware and/or Microsoft enterprise infrastructure technology.
- Experience of complex infrastructure support.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience developing policies and processes.
- Experience of working within an NHS ICT Environment
- Experience of NHS/Government procurement processes.
Evidence of Particular
- Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework
- Expert knowledge of server and networking technologies including virtualisation.
- Expert knowledge of large-scale software infrastructure maintenance and support.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Good technical awareness with the ability to fault find on highly complex systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Knowledge and experience of managing and developing large enterprise networks.
- Knowledge and experience of managing and developing large server and desktop virtualisation environments.
