Main duties of the job

1. Production of complex output-based specifications and project definition documentation, in collaboration with appropriate IT leads, health care professionals, suppliers, Trust and Integrated Care System (ICS) and Integrated Care Board (ICB) staff, which contribute to the long-term plans of the regional health community.

2. Produce regular Project Status Summaries, monitoring returns and reports for Steering Groups and Boards.

3. Production of over-arching and inter-linking IT plans, ensuring detailed timetabling of resources across all elements of delivery.

4. Liaise with departments, users and system suppliers on issues that arise during the implementation process.

5. Production and implementation of testing and training strategies for new IT systems.

6. Initiate and, where appropriate, lead and attend internal and external meetings relating to IT projects that involves negotiating with and influencing multi-disciplinary staff groups.

7. Identify, organise, and facilitate changes in working practice, acting as a change agent to lead fellow staff and colleagues to meet the national and local IT agenda.

8. Identify, document, and manage risks & issues associated with IT projects.

9. Identify, document, and realise benefits associated with IT projects.

Qualifications

Essential
  • *IT degree or equivalent industry qualification and relevant experience in an IT related job
Desirable
  • *Ongoing education and learning to Post Graduate Diploma Level

Experience

Essential
  • *Relevant experience within an IT environment including actual experience of project management which includes a period in an NHS environment.
  • *Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary project team
  • *Full project life cycle experience in medium and large IT projects, with strong skills in the planning and
  • *implementation phases
  • *Delivering projects on time and to budget
  • *Writing and presenting IT business cases
  • *A good understanding of project risk and issue management
  • *Presenting internally and externally, and at all levels
  • *A good understanding of NHS strategies and plans and how they affect delivery of IT within Trusts
Desirable
  • *A good general understanding and knowledge of medium/large IT systems design, databases, operating systems, interfacing, and functionality.
  • *A good understanding and working knowledge of data networking concepts, desktop, and server technology, with particular reference to Microsoft products.
