Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer

A fantastic, well-established client are seeking a permanent Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer to join the business. They are a leading provider in the financial sector and you will be working in their data centre and be committed to maintaining top-tier engineering infrastructure to ensure seamless business operations 24/7, 365 days a year. You’ll be part of a dynamic team working on a shift pattern (mixture of days and nights, weekday’s and evenings) where your skills and expertise will contribute to our continued success. You will be paid a fantastic salary and in addition, a 25% shift allowance too.

As a Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer, you will be an integral part of their in-house Engineering team, working alongside external contractors to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and fault rectification of the data centre's engineering infrastructure. This critical role requires hands-on expertise and a commitment to excellence in ensuring business availability with an electrical bias.

Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer  Responsibilities:

• Operate, test, diagnose faults, and provide front-line response for rectification within the complex engineering facility.
• Manage and maintain lighting, emergency lighting, heating, ventilation, comfort cooling, air-conditioning, electrical distribution systems, switchgear, UPS systems, power generation, fire detection systems, and fixed fire extinguishing systems.
• Utilize knowledge and operating experience in computerized Building Management Systems for monitoring and operating all engineering systems.
• Work in a shift pattern, including days, nights, and weekends, ensuring 24/7 coverage of the data centre.

Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer Required Experience:

• Experience in fault rectification and operation of engineering infrastructure in a data centre or critical environment.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining various systems including lighting, HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS, power generation, and fire detection.
• Desirable qualifications such as Electrical Inspection and Testing (City & Guild 2391 or equivalent), Certified Data Centre Technician Professional (CDCTP), or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to the data centre.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
