Description Overview This role sits in the Cryogenics Systems Team within the TE Magnetics (TEM) at Tokamak Energy, and is required to meet the expanding needs of TEM. We are looking for someone who can support the build and maintenance of cryogenics systems. These projects will either be test cryostats for magnets on site at TE or part of … the deliverables of magnet systems for external customers. Requirements Build and maintain cryogenic systems to support the high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology Involvement in specification and design of required equipment Contribute to the build of cryogenic systems, with a focus on the cryogenic specific aspects e.g. fitting MLI, thermal pipe insulation, making stycast joints, setting up … vacuum pumps. Operate and maintain cryogenic systems using both cryocooler/compressor systems and Liquid Nitrogen systems. Contribute to safety reviews and risk assessments Work in a mixed team of engineers, physicists, designers and technicians to develop innovative and complex devices.
