Senior Engineer Audio & Video Processing

Purpose
Lead the design, development, implementation, and optimisation of audio and video systems across both legacy and cloud-based environments. Ensure high performance, reliability, and innovation in all A/V processing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Audio & Video processing systems for broadcast and satellite communications.
• Install, test, and troubleshoot A/V solutions to maximise performance and availability.
• Act as Design Authority for A/V processing, ensuring end-to-end solution integrity.
• Drive standardisation and seamless integration of new technologies into existing infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor engineers, providing technical guidance and acting as an escalation point for complex issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Network Engineering, and Operations to deliver robust and scalable A/V solutions.
• Manage third-party suppliers to ensure adherence to specifications, standards, and timelines.
• Support migration and integration projects for both on-premise and cloud-based systems.
• Stay current with industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations.
• Contribute to accurate forecasting, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Expertise

• Strong knowledge of audio and video processing principles and industry standards.
• Proficiency in encoding, multiplexing, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with virtualisation and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience managing multiple technical projects or workstreams.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven track record in Audio & Video processing engineering and system integration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies and virtualised A/V solutions.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred.
