Java Developer

Location: Reading, Berkshire (Hybrid)

Day rate: £400 - £450 (Inside IR35)

Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

We are looking for an experienced SC Cleared Java Developer to join a growing technology team working on complex, business-critical applications.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on development, solving technical challenges and working on secure, large-scale projects.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, developing and maintaining Java-based applications.
• Building and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Working with Spring Boot and modern Java frameworks.
• Developing scalable, secure and high-performing solutions.
• Collaborating with architects, developers and DevOps teams.
• Supporting testing, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Working in an Agile development environment.

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial experience developing applications using Java.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git and automated testing.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure would be beneficial.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Active UK SC Clearance.
