Head of Product Operations
Product and Design Operations defines and governs the operating model, governance, and practices that enable product-led delivery. Focusing on aligning product strategy with delivery capability, improving visibility and collaboration across tribes, and building the discipline needed to scale product and design excellence.
As Head of Product and Design Operations, you'll lead the strategy and execution for product and design operations across AXA UKI. You'll define and evolve the operating model, drive planning rhythms and governance, and nurture a community of product, design, and delivery specialists to ensure consistency, capability growth, and maximum business value across products and platforms.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you'll be doing:- Design, implement and continuously evolve the product operating model at AXA UK.
- Drive alignment between strategy, delivery and operational execution across the product organisation.
- Establish and lead planning rhythms and rituals that align tribe activities across AXA UK.
- Embed and scale planning hierarchy to ensure consistent prioritisation and execution across all levels.
- Track and report progress against strategic objectives, surfacing risks and enabling course correction where needed.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to monitor product delivery, team performance, and business value.
- Provide data-driven insights to product leaders and executive stakeholders to inform prioritisation and investment decisions.
- Support establishment and running of Product and Agile communities of practice to uplift skills and maturity.

What you'll bring:- Extensive experience in product-aligned delivery, product operations, or design/delivery leadership within large, complex organisations.
- Deep understanding of product management, agile delivery, and technology-enabled transformation.
- Experience shaping operating models and governance for product-led organisations.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
- Strong capabilities in designing and implementing planning rhythms, rituals, and portfolio coordination across tribes.
- Proficiency in data analytics, dashboards, metrics, and decision-support for product strategy.
- Experience building communities of practice and capabilities development across product, design, and delivery domains.
- Strategic thinker with a delivery mindset and excellent communication skills.
