About the Role
Our client is seeking an adaptable User-Centred Design Consultant to join their multidisciplinary team and deliver outstanding results across projects in both the private and public sectors.

You will work closely with users and stakeholders to design products and services that meet real needs, considering the full end-to-end journey and individual design elements. Your portfolio should demonstrate your ability to apply design thinking, evidence-based approaches, and communicate design decisions effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply design thinking frameworks and evidence-based design principles.
• Create and iterate prototypes at appropriate fidelity levels.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility and inclusive design standards.
• Align designs with relevant design standards, including UK public sector and GDS guidelines.
• Conduct or collaborate on user research to inform design decisions.
• Communicate design processes clearly to stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Work in an agile, multidisciplinary environment, embracing open and iterative collaboration.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of design thinking and evidence-based design.
• Experience with concepts and prototyping, including evaluation and stakeholder communication.
• Knowledge of accessible/inclusive design principles and standards.
• Familiarity with UK public sector design standards and GDS assessment processes.
• Ability to focus on user needs and explain design decisions clearly.
• Proven consultancy skills and stakeholder management experience.
• Comfortable working in agile teams across the development life cycle.
