The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Developer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality digital services on major Central Government programmes.
This role requires a strong full-stack background, a passion for modern engineering practices, and experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications
- Contribute to microservices and event-driven architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps
- Build secure, resilient, and high-performing systems in AWS environments
- Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous improvement practices
- Engage with stakeholders and contribute to technical decision-making
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working on Central Government projects
- Strong expertise in:
- Node.js
- React
- Angular
- AWS
- Terraform
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Eligible for BPSS clearance
Technical Skills
Backend & Frontend:
- Java (11) including Spring Boot, Dropwizard, Hibernate, Jersey, CXF, Maven
- JavaScript (Node.js, Express, Mongoose, Sequelize, Gulp)
Architecture & Messaging:
- Microservices and event-driven architecture
- Messaging tools such as ActiveMQ/RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka
- API Gateways (e.g. Kong or equivalent)
DevOps & CI/CD:
- Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins
- SonarQube, Nexus, Artifactory
Cloud:
- Strong AWS experience (designing, deploying, and maintaining services)
