Salary: £150,000 – £260,000

Company Overview:

We are partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed SaaS company at the forefront of conversational AI and agentic automation. Operating globally and trusted by major enterprise clients, this organisation is developing an industry-leading platform that spans chat, email and voice for mission-critical customer-experience flows. You’ll join a high-calibre engineering culture where innovation, scale, and impact are core.

Role:

As an Software Engineer you will join the Agent Engineering team , owning end-to-end design, development, deployment and iteration of intelligent AI agents used by millions of users. You will work with a world-class engineering team, collaborate directly with customers (in domains such as finance, healthcare and hospitality), and shape the evolution of the agent platform. This is a hands-on role with both deep technical challenge and real business impact.

In this role you will:

  • Design, build and ship AI-agents and agent workflows that automate complex customer-facing interactions across multiple channels (chat, email, voice).
  • Dive into the underlying systems: asynchronous architectures, multi-modal models, distributed service infrastructure and very large-scale usage.
  • Analyse cross-customer usage trends and feedback to guide the platform roadmap, agent logic and model selection.
  • Experiment with state-of-the-art text and voice models, integrate them at scale into enterprise-grade customers’ environments.
  • Take full ownership of the agent lifecycle — from initial implementation, through performance monitoring, continual iteration and scaling.
  • Collaborate with product, data science, platform and customer-facing teams to deliver elegant, robust and maintainable solutions.

Ideal profile:

  • Ideally 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a production setting.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript and experience with asynchronous programming and large-scale systems.
  • Good understanding of modern software engineering practices: API design, modular architecture, testing, observability, continuous deployment.
  • Comfortable diagnosing failures in deep technology stacks, using a variety of tools, logs, trace systems, metrics, etc.

Preferred/Bonus Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with multi-modal models (e.g., combining voice/text, or sensor data + NLP) and deploying machine-learning driven agents would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with conversational-AI platforms, agent orchestration, real-time streaming or event-driven systems.
  • Prior exposure to enterprise-grade deployments (large customer base, high throughput, strict SLAs).
  • Interest in and knowledge of the customer-experience / CX domain (support automation, deflection metrics, voice agents) is a plus.
  • Experience in a high-engineering-bar environment (start-up, trading firm, AI company) is an advantage.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity participation — the ability to share in company growth.
  • Healthcare benefits (medical, dental, vision) for you (and dependents where applicable).
  • Flexible “take what you need” vacation policy and generous leave allowance.
  • Daily lunches, snacks and dinners in the office to keep you fuelled and connected.
  • A collaborative, high-energy London-based engineering team working on bleeding-edge AI.
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact — your work will influence platform architecture and millions of user interactions.

If you are excited by the idea of building large-scale AI agents and shaping the next generation of customer-facing automation, please kindly apply to this LinkedIn advert and tell us how your experience aligns to this role.
