Technical Project Manager

About Atmo Technology

Atmo Technology Ltd is a specialist technology monitoring company delivering IoT-based sensing, structural monitoring, and data solutions for clients across the UK. We work on technically complex, high-consequence projects where accuracy, reliability, and professionalism matter.

We are a growing SME and this role offers real responsibility from day one, with the opportunity to develop quickly alongside an experienced and dedicated team.

Role Purpose

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for a technically capable person who is ready to get out on site, take ownership, and make things work. You will be sourcing and installing IoT sensors, supporting live project delivery, maintaining our asset base, and helping to develop the commercial pipeline through bid and tender activity.

No two days will be the same. You will be trusted to take responsibility early and supported to grow into a rounded technical professional.

We welcome applications from recent graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of professional experience.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware & Technology

  • Be our go-to hardware expert: scout, assess, source, and integrate the right IoT sensors and components for each project.
  • Stay ahead of the hardware curve, researching new sensor technologies and understanding how they connect, perform, fail, and get maintained in real-world conditions.
  • Own supplier relationships, ensuring we get the right kit, at the right quality, at the right time.
  • Get hands-on with our in-house software platform, using it to configure, monitor, and manage IoT sensors across live deployments.

Site Delivery & Installations

  • Lead the action on site: installing sensors, swapping components, collecting equipment, troubleshooting issues, and carrying out light install work such as drilling, mounting, and fixing.
  • Bring a safety-first mindset to every site visit, working competently, spotting risks early, and taking pride in doing things properly.
  • Build trust on site by being professional, credible, calm under pressure, and easy to work with — for clients, contractors, and stakeholders alike.
  • Keep PPE, tools, and site equipment ready to go so the team always turns up prepared and professional.

Project Management & Documentation

  • Drive project delivery from the front, coordinating timelines, stakeholders, dependencies, risks, and progress updates.
  • Own the paperwork that keeps projects moving: risk assessments, statements of work, change requests, project plans, install records, and maintenance documentation.
  • Keep our hardware world organised by managing asset inventory, tracking kit, and identifying what each project needs before anyone has to ask.

Business Development & Bids

  • Support the identification of bid and tender opportunities aligned with Atmo’s capabilities and growth strategy.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of bids, proposals, and expressions of interest, contributing technical content and project delivery insight.
  • Help maintain awareness of relevant procurement portals, frameworks, and client pipelines to ensure Atmo is well-positioned to compete for new work.

Profile of the Successful Candidate

  • Highly organised, delivery-focused, and able to keep projects on track, on time, and on budget.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to quickly understand IoT hardware, sensors, and software systems.
  • Confident managing tasks, suppliers, documentation, site activity, and stakeholder communication.
  • Professional, personable, and trusted by clients, with a practical approach to building strong working relationships.
  • Safety-conscious and comfortable working on site in complex environments, including around large machinery. Full safety training will be provided.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and willing to get stuck in to solve problems and keep work moving.
  • Committed to high standards, sustainability, and doing the job properly.
  • Relevant education or early experience in project management, operations, field delivery, installations, hardware, or engineering.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the country.

What We Offer

  • A role with real responsibility from day one — not a support or admin position.
  • Exposure to technically interesting, high-profile infrastructure projects.
  • A collaborative, non-hierarchical team environment where your contributions are visible and valued.
  • Full safety training and any site certification required for the role.
  • Competitive salary, reviewed regularly as you develop.
