Contract Role – Onboarding & Cards, Payments Business Analyst (Banking) - Northampton/Hybrid – 12 months initial – Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (Cards, Payments & Onboarding) to join a leading UK banking organisation on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will work across critical change initiatives focused on improving customer onboarding journeys, card issuance, and payment processes. You will play a key role in defining requirements, optimising business processes, and supporting the delivery of compliant, efficient, and customer-centric banking solutions.

Role Overview:

• Location: Northampton/Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite (non-negotiable)

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the Banking or Financial Services sector.
• Strong understanding of Cards and Payments (credit/debit card processing, payment gateways, settlements, and authorisations).
• Solid knowledge of Customer Onboarding and KYC/AML processes.
• Experience working on regulatory, digital transformation, or operational improvement programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to gather, analyse, and document complex business and functional requirements.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments, ideally with tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technology functions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of ISO 20022, Open Banking, or Faster Payments initiatives.
• Familiarity with API integrations and digital onboarding platforms.
• Experience with data and reporting requirements related to payments or customer lifecycle.
