Summary
Do you have experience of providing Architectural leadership and expertise, ideally within a Private Cloud (Azure Local) product environment? This consulting opportunity is to support our client, a leading Insurance company.
The client needs a consultant who can do the following:
- Act as a senior technical authority for private cloud services, responsible for shaping architectural direction, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and enabling the delivery of scalable, secure, cost-efficient infrastructure platforms.
- Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders, to design and guide the implementation of robust Azure Local, VMware, and hybrid cloud solutions that underpin mission-critical workloads.
- Manage priorities, shape roadmaps, and align architectural decisions with business outcomes.
Key services:
The key services that you will be asked to provide are:
- Private Cloud Architecture & Roadmapping – Define the target architecture and roadmap for Azure Local–based private cloud services, providing design governance and technical guidance to support platform evolution.
- Data Centre & Infrastructure Architecture – Lead architectural planning across compute, storage, and network services; oversee migrations, modernisation programmes, and infrastructure lifecycle .
- Virtualisation & Platform Engineering Leadership – Provide technical leadership across VMware and Hyper-V environments, ensuring performance, resilience, and integration within the hybrid cloud ecosystem
- Infrastructure Optimisation & Automation – Drive enhancements, automation, and monitoring to improve operational efficiency.
- Hybrid Cloud Integration – Oversee integration with Azure, VMware Cloud, and Oracle Cloud, ensuring security, compliance, and strategic alignment.
Mandatory Requirements:
Successful consultants will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect designing, governing, and optimising enterprise infrastructure or private cloud platforms.
- Deep hands-on expertise in virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and the architectural principles underpinning virtualised compute platforms.
- Strong understanding of private/hybrid cloud architectures, particularly Azure-based solutions and their integration with on-premises environments.
- Ability to work across both technical and business stakeholders, articulating architectural decisions, facilitating design workshops, and guiding engineering teams through implementation.
- Experience contributing to or leading platform/product ownership activities, such as defining roadmaps, managing priorities, or aligning technical solutions with business needs
Optional Requirements:
It will also be advantageous if you have :
- Experience with Azure Local: designing, integrating, and optimising enterprise deployments.
- Knowledge of VMware Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and hybrid cloud networking/security patterns
