The Role
As a Business Analyst, you will act as the bridge between business and technology teams, helping to translate strategic objectives into actionable requirements and delivery plans.
You will work closely with stakeholders across business, IT and delivery functions to identify opportunities for improvement, develop business cases, assess technology solutions and support the successful implementation of digital transformation initiatives.
This role requires a strong blend of analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement, business process analysis and requirements management expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-level, costed transformation roadmaps and implementation plans.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to identify and define solutions that address business challenges.
- Translate new digital initiatives and demand into high-level business requirements.
- Develop compelling business cases to secure investment and funding for transformation programmes.
- Assess the impact of proposed digital solutions on people, processes, technology and ways of working.
- Develop and evaluate solution options, including Proof of Concepts (PoCs), Pilots and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
- Document and analyse current ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") business processes, systems and integrations.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify process, technology and capability improvements.
- Lead requirements gathering workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Create user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements and technical briefs for delivery teams.
- Support application assessments, vendor evaluations and solution selection activities.
- Ensure existing systems and technology investments are considered as part of solution design and optimisation.
- Provide guidance and coaching to project and initiative leads on business analysis best practices and standards.
- Support technology compliance activities by identifying capability gaps and defining remediation plans.
- Identify risks, dependencies and delivery challenges, proactively driving mitigation activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within digital transformation, business change or technology delivery environments.
- Extensive experience creating, prioritising and managing user story backlogs.
- Strong experience defining user stories and drafting acceptance criteria.
- Demonstrated experience developing business cases and investment justifications.
- Experience facilitating workshops and gathering requirements from a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong process mapping and gap analysis experience.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, structured documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing relationships across business, technical and delivery teams.
- Ability to identify risks, dependencies and delivery impacts early in the project lifecycle.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborative delivery environments.
