The Role

As an Application Specialist, you will support the smooth delivery and ongoing performance of the company's business software and applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure applications are secure, efficient, and aligned with user needs.

Your responsibilities will span the full application lifecycle, from analysis and configuration through to support and optimisation, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: analysis, design, testing, and deployment.
  • Configure, install, and maintain software applications on a range of platforms and devices.
  • Monitor and optimise system performance, availability, and security.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for user support and application-related troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain application documentation, manuals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to improve software delivery and business processes.
  • Gather user feedback and propose improvements to existing systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
  • Deliver user training sessions and produce instructional guides.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors and support providers.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve technical issues.
  • Experience managing application-related projects from planning to delivery.
  • Proven track record in technical documentation and user training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across IT, digital, and business teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • SQL proficiency and database management experience.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python, PHP).
  • Web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .NET).
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Graph API.
  • Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • Experience with HR systems and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Understanding of identity and access management tools.
