Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity to join the East of England Out of Hours Stroke Telemedicine Service as a Technical Manager. This long-running service supports 7 of the region's hospitals in delivery acute stroke care using secure videoconferencing to link a remote stroke consultant to the local hospital stroke team.

Main duties of the job

The role will include leading on the technical development and delivery of the telemedicine services across 7 Trusts, identifying areas of potential improvement and implementing where appropriate. In addition, you will be required to provide technical administration including, but not limited to, Microsoft SharePoint platform, Visionable, JamfNow, TeamViewer and Ring Central and the management and support of laptops (MacBooks) used by on call Stroke Consultants as part of the Service.

You will also be required to provide out of hours cover, cover required 365 days, rota shared with Telemedicine Manager.

Qualifications

Essential
  • oBSc (or B. Tech equivalent) in relevant field, for example: Information Technology/Computer Science/Electronic & Communication
Desirable
  • oMSc in relevant field, for example: Health Informatics/Telemedicine/Telehealth/Digital Informatics
  • oPRINCE2 or equivalent
  • oQualification in Microsoft 365 management, implementation or development
  • oHealthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)

Experience

Essential
  • o3-5 years previous health-related/NHS IT and/or technical experience
  • oProject Management experience
  • oMaintaining IT infrastructure across multiple sites
  • oExperience in management and support of Apple MacBooks and related software
  • oSupporting NHS clinical and technical staff in software support
  • oTechnical troubleshooting
  • oLiaising with third party non-NHS technical suppliers
  • oProviding expert specialist advice and support to clinicians, managers & IT teams
  • oProviding out of hours technical cover/support
  • oBudget & financial planning
Desirable
  • oRecent previous experience with telemedicine/telehealth and/or virtual healthcare delivery
  • oDemonstrate recent experience, specialist knowledge and expertise of digital technology in health and care
  • oWorking with NHS England and or Integrated Stroke Delivery Networks (ISDNs)
  • oExperience of working with and managing MacOS devices
  • oProven ability to identify and deploy technical solutions to support collaboration across health and care organisations

Knowledge

Essential
  • NHS-standard secure hospital network security - for example VPNs, firewalls, NHS Digital cybersecurity policies
  • Working knowledge and administration commonly used software packages, specifically Microsoft Office 365 (specifically Excel, Word, SharePoint, Forms, Automate)
  • oDemonstrate a thorough understanding of development and service delivery in the acute health sector or similar complex service environment
  • Interoperability between NHS trusts and videoconferencing technology/telemedicine platforms
