Calypso Business Analyst - INSIDE IR35 - London/Hybrid

Job Title: Calypso Business Analyst
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Threadneedle Street, London (4 days per week onsite)
Salary/Rate: Up to £600/day INSIDE IR35
Job Type: 12 month contract - very likely to extend
Company: Global software consulting - joining the financial arm of the business

Required Skills/Experience

• Proven track record as a business analyst in capital markets, with deep expertise in fixed income (both cash and derivatives)
• Calypso experience
• Proven hands-on experience with the Calypso platform, including upgrades, configurations, and functional workflows.
• Strong understanding of fixed income instruments such as bonds, repos, swaps, and derivatives, along with associated trade life cycle and risk management processes.
• Experience working with front, middle, and back office stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Solid knowledge of trade capture, PnL, risk, and settlement workflows within Calypso.
• Previous experience with Calypso upgrades or migrations is highly desirable.
• Advanced knowledge of system analysis process and techniques, as well as system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows and business rules.

Responsibilities:

• Work with technology partners (e.g. Solution Designers and Architects) to research and analyse current state system capabilities and define technology solutions options and recommendations.
• Collaborate with the Fixed Income team to gather and analyse business requirements across cash and derivatives products.
• Support and enhance Calypso platform functionality to align with evolving business needs, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
• Conduct detailed gap analysis and propose solutions to bridge business requirements with system capabilities.
• Lead or contribute to the Calypso upgrade process, ensuring seamless integration and minimal impact to existing workflows.
• Document workflows, specifications, and system configurations for effective knowledge transfer and maintenance.
• Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting of Calypso-related processes across cash and derivative instruments.
• Work with technology teams to deliver enhancements and ensure robust data integration and process automation.
• Provide user support and training to stakeholders, maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay up to date with market developments in the fixed income space and best practices in Calypso platform management.
• Respect existing processes and standards, including requirements management and project management disciplines, technology delivery and business technology architecture, escalating issues as needed.
