Job Title: TLM Consultant / Developer (SmartStream TLM)

Location: UK (Hybrid)

Contract Type: 6 Months

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced TLM Consultant / Developer with strong hands-on expertise in SmartStream TLM Premium (v2.5 or higher) to join a high-performing Capital Markets technology team.

You will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting reconciliation solutions across multiple asset classes, ensuring robust control frameworks across Nostro, Depository, Intercompany, Intersystem, FOBO, and FOCL reconciliations.

This role requires strong technical depth in TLM configuration, Oracle development, Unix scripting, and production support, combined with a solid understanding of Capital Markets and trade lifecycle processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse business requirements and design end-to-end reconciliation solutions on SmartStream TLM Premium (2.5+)
  • Build, configure, test (Unit, SIT, UAT), and deploy reconciliation processes into production
  • Develop and maintain reconciliation controls across multiple asset classes including Nostro, Depos, Intercompany, and Intersystem flows
  • Work with Smart Studio, Smart Schema, Recon Admin, Web Connect, and CT tools to configure and enhance TLM functionality
  • Develop and optimise Oracle SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database objects to support reconciliation and reporting needs
  • Perform backend analysis of reconciliation breaks using TLM database tables and linkages
  • Support exception management and automation of break allocation processes
  • Write and maintain Unix shell scripts (Linux/Solaris) for data processing, monitoring, and support activities
  • Validate and troubleshoot TLM services, logs, and system issues in production environments
  • Participate in rotational production support, including incident resolution and root cause analysis
  • Develop and support reporting solutions using tools such as BIRT, Crystal Reports, SAP BO, or similar
  • Collaborate within Agile/DevOps environments, contributing to CI/CD and automation initiatives
  • Engage with business and operations teams to refine reconciliation controls and improve processes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with SmartStream TLM Premium 2.5 or higher
  • Proven experience building and supporting reconciliation solutions in TLM
  • Strong Oracle SQL development skills, including performance tuning
  • Experience with database objects (stored procedures, triggers, views, complex queries)
  • Strong Unix/Linux shell scripting skills (bash, vi editor, Solaris experience preferred)
  • Production support experience in enterprise environments
  • Understanding of Capital Markets and trade lifecycle across asset classes
  • Familiarity with TLM tools such as Smart Studio, Smart Schema, Recon Admin, Web Connect, CT tools
  • Experience with troubleshooting database and application-level issues

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to cloud environments (preferably GCP)
  • Experience with reporting/analytics tools (BIRT, SAP BO, QlikView/QlikSense, Crystal Reports)
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices (GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence)
  • Programming experience in Python or Java
  • Scripting knowledge in VB, Perl, or PowerShell
  • Exposure to automated deployment tools and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and Agile delivery environments
