Software Developer, C#, .NET, AI-led Development
A Software Developer opportunity has arisen with a growing software business that builds event management technology used across trade exhibitions, conferences and consumer events. Could this be your chance to shape AI-powered product features in a role that values curiosity and sound engineering judgement?
The Role
Working fully-remotely, the Software Developer will work within a technical stack that includes C#/.NET and SQL Server, React, TypeScript, Python services and Google Cloud Platform, taking real customer problems through to tested, working software - covering design, delivery and the evidence that a solution actually holds up. Day to day, this means owning end-to-end delivery across web applications, APIs, AI services and cloud infrastructure, working alongside product, engineering and customer-facing colleagues to define useful outcomes and make sensible trade-offs. A key part of this Software Developer role involves directing AI agents through specifications, implementation plans, coding and regression testing, then critically reviewing their output and approving progression only when results genuinely meet the need. You will also contribute to sprint reviews, stand-ups and retrospectives, sharing what you learn and helping the team improve both the product and the way it is built.
The Company
This is an established software company operating in the events technology space, serving a broad range of clients across multiple product lines including registration, onsite operations and data services. The business is investing meaningfully in AI capabilities and takes a collaborative, values-led approach to how teams work together. Based in the UK with hybrid working, the organisation offers genuine scope for a Software Developer to grow their ownership and technical expertise over time.
What experience does the Software Developer need?
- Solid software engineering foundations with a track record of turning complex problems into well-tested, working solutions, and practical experience designing and integrating APIs with attention to security, data boundaries and permissions
- Strong programming skills including object-oriented design, SQL and data modelling, with confidence working across a technical stack that includes C#/.NET and SQL Server, React and TypeScript, and Python services
- An interest in AI-enabled software and a grounded sense of its possibilities and limits; direct AI product experience is welcome though not essential
- Some practical cloud experience is preferred, as the team is currently building and running services on GCP
- Clear communication skills, a constructive approach to feedback, and the persistence to trace problems to their root and see them through to a verified outcome
Benefits
- Fully-remote working, with monthly meet-ups, often in the Oxfordshire area
- 25 days annual leave with the option to buy or sell additional days, and a company bonus scheme
- Private medical insurance and a health cashback plan
- Pension and life assurance
- EV scheme
