Information / Data Architect (Supply Chain)

Are you an experienced Information Architect, Data Architect or Solution Architect with strong Supply Chain domain knowledge and hands-on expertise across AWS, Databricks, and modern data platforms?

Do you have a proven track record designing scalable data architectures that support supply planning, demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, and operational decision-making?

If so, we would like to hear from you.

Our client is undertaking a significant airline operations supply chain transformation and requires an experienced Data / Information Architect to lead the design and implementation of the data architecture supporting end-to-end supply chain visibility, planning, and optimisation.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, supply chain SMEs, solution architects, functional consultants, and engineering teams to translate complex operational requirements into robust, scalable, and governed data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall data and information architecture for a major airline supply chain implementation.
  • Design and implement scalable cloud-based data architectures using AWS and Databricks.
  • Define conceptual, logical, and physical data models across supply chain and planning domains.
  • Translate Supply Chain business processes into information models, metrics, relationships, and data flows using the SCOR framework.
  • Establish integration patterns across airline operational systems, planning applications, enterprise platforms, and external data sources.
  • Define and govern master data, reference data, metadata, lineage, business glossaries, and data quality standards.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture supply and demand planning requirements and convert them into architecture deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership to architecture, engineering, and implementation teams.
  • Produce architecture artefacts including data models, architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and implementation standards.
  • Support testing, deployment, production readiness, performance optimisation, and operational governance activities.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect, Information Architect, or Solution Architect delivering data-intensive enterprise or supply chain transformation programmes.
  • Strong experience supporting Supply Chain Planning, Demand Forecasting, Inventory Optimisation, and Supply-Demand Balancing processes.
  • Expertise in modern data architecture patterns including Data Mesh, domain-oriented data products, and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services covering data ingestion, storage, processing, orchestration, security, and monitoring.
  • Advanced knowledge of Databricks, including Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and large-scale data engineering practices.
  • Expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling, including dimensional modelling, relational modelling, and modern warehouse/lakehouse design.
  • Strong understanding of the SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) model, particularly Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Inventory, and Resource Planning.
  • Experience translating business requirements into data models, information flows, integration specifications, and architecture artefacts.
  • Proven experience integrating data across enterprise systems using APIs, batch processing, messaging, event-driven architectures, and streaming technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, master data management, data quality, data lineage, and enterprise security practices.

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Able to engage effectively with both technical and business audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable leading architecture discussions and influencing decision-making.
  • Able to balance strategic architecture thinking with hands-on technical delivery.
  • Strong documentation and governance discipline.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a major airline supply chain transformation programme, shaping the data architecture that will underpin critical planning, operational, and decision-making capabilities across the organisation. You will work with modern cloud technologies, complex supply chain processes, and senior stakeholders while driving measurable business outcomes.
