The Project Support Officer coordinates and manages project activities, ensuring effective delivery and compliance with organisational standards.The post-holder will support the Cloud Programmes administrative tasks that are necessary to deliver on time and within budget. These may involve internal and external stakeholders and have fixed timelines. This role is crucial for co-ordinating key participants to advance the workstreams.

The Project Support Officer will possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Be capable of managing, developing and influencing both people and projects.

Duties include timely and accurate project and program reporting, supporting quality assurance processes for individual projects, and contributing to the creation of reports and papers for relevant meetings.Working independently without daily supervision, the post-holder will escalate any identified risks and issues through the appropriate channels.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential
  • Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects.
  • Further evidence of relevant higher-level education and / or training.
  • Knowledge gained through practical experience of working at this level, across the range of work procedures and practices
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable
  • Project Management qualification such as Prince 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the NHS, other healthcare systems, or the health sector, including regional or national variations.

Experience

Essential
  • Working knowledge of identifying key business stakeholders and assessing their needs and interests, to create a comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan.
  • Working knowledge in working with frameworks and methodologies to ensure compliance with quality and operational standards throughout the project delivery lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of methods, techniques and tools used for monitoring budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and value for money.
  • Experience in identifying, sharing and promoting best practices and lessons learned to create a culture of learning and good practice that supports continuous improvement to optimise programme delivery.
Desirable
  • Detailed knowledge in principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective administration and tracking of programmes through implementation to the successful achievement of planned business benefits.

Skills and Aptitude

Essential
  • Developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels, adapting communication styles to effectively work with people from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Able to plan and prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines and deal effectively with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and equally effective as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficient in use of standard IT packages e.g. Microsoft Office with the ability to master new applications.
Desirable
  • Advanced IT skills in a range of desktop applications e.g. Excel, Power BI
  • Welsh language skills are desirable at levels 1 or above in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh
