IT Installation Technician
*Job Summary:* We are seeking a technically skilled *IT Installation Engineer* with experience in data cabling to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of IT hardware, networking equipment, and structured cabling systems. This is a hands-on role requiring practical fieldwork at client sites, with a focus on delivering high-quality installations that meet industry standards. *Key Responsibilities:** Install and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cabling for voice and data networks.
* Structured cabling installations, including trunking, conduit work, cable dressing, patch panel termination, and labeling
* Install and configure IT hardware including servers, switches, routers, wireless access points, PCs, printers, and peripherals
* Conduct site surveys and produce detailed installation reports and layout plans for quotations
* Troubleshoot and repair network or cabling issues at client sites
* Maintain stock of installation materials and ensure tools and equipment are well maintained.
* 1st line IT Support on the Helpdesk *Requirements:**Education & Certifications:** Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* Relevant certifications in data cabling or networking (e.g., BICSI, CNCI, CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) are highly desirable. *Experience:** 2+ years of experience in IT installation, structured cabling, or a similar field role.
* Proven experience in terminating and testing Cat5e/6/6a and fiber optic cables. *Skills:** Strong technical knowledge of IT systems, networking principles, and cable infrastructure.
* Proficient with hand and power tools used in cabling installation.
* Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, building plans, and floor layouts.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients and team members.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage tasks onsite. *Preferred Skills:** Experience with rack building and equipment mounting in data centers or comms rooms.
* Familiarity with cable management best practices. *Other Requirements:** Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel to different sites.
* Ability to work at height, in confined spaces, or outside normal business hours if required. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year Benefits:
