East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Data Investigation Lead to join our ESHT Digital team. This is a pivotal role where you will lead on ensuring the completeness and accuracy of patient-related data across the Trust's systems, supporting both clinical and business processes
Main duties of the job
- Lead investigations into data quality issues, including root cause analysis and resolution planning.
- Act as the Trust's lead specialist in data investigation, advising on system use and data processes.
- Manage a small team, supporting their development and ensuring consistent standards.
- Support the development and delivery of training and education packages to improve data quality awareness across the Trust.
- Liaise with clinicians, managers, admin teams, and external NHS providers to resolve data issues and promote best practices.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification or comparative vocational qualification or equivalent higher education qualification
- Evidence of postgraduate training and experience in data analysis, systems and administration
- Expert knowledge of clinical systems, the data recorded within them and how this supports patient care across the NHS
- Knowledge of NHS Data Definitions and NHS compliance standards and performance targets
Experience
- Extensive experience in a similar role in the NHS or similar complex organisation
- Significant experience of NHS data, admin and the clinical uses of it
- Experience of investigating, identifying root cause problems and recommending and implementing solutions / changes across a large complex organisational structure, preferably in the NHS
- Experience of managing staff
- Use, experience and understanding of NHS patient admin systems
- Understanding of NHS data collection and definitions
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- A clear understanding of the broad data requirements agenda across NHS bodies
- Possess an investigative approach to issues and a proactive and constructive approach to finding resolution
- Knowledge of national standards in relation to data collection on NHS systems
- Expert knowledge of systems, the data recorded within them and how this supports patient care across the NHS
- Extensive knowledge of several NHS systems
- In depth knowledge of patient pathway flows
