Technical Architect - Speciality Insurance

We are currently partnering with a Market-Leading Speciality Insurer to recruit a Technical Architect. The successful candidate will play a key role by defining roadmaps, designing adaptable solutions, ensuring alignment with stakeholders, managing technical risks, and supporting Agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Develop architectural roadmaps and solution designs that support application transformation/migration and align with enterprise standards.
  • Lead and approve end-to-end solution design, ensuring stakeholder alignment and accountability for final signoff.
  • Shape operating models and business cases, presenting technical solutions for approval, funding, and prioritisation.
  • Support requirements gathering and process re-engineering to maximise core product utilisation and minimise custom development.
  • Uphold architecture governance, promoting design patterns, technology standards, and reusable assets across the organisation.
  • Enable Agile and DevSecOps delivery, collaborating with technical teams, reviewing designs/code, and ensuring performance and quality.
  • Identify and mitigate technology risks, while staying current with market trends and recommending modern technologies and methods.
  • Act as a cross-functional liaison, facilitating alignment between business and IT, contributing to architecture repositories, and ensuring non-functional requirements are defined and met.

The ideal candidate should have;

  • Strong insurance domain expertise across the full lifecycle (UW, Claims, Policy, Billing) with experience delivering core insurance platform projects (ideally Guidewire).
  • Robust solution design and technical delivery capability, including integrations with wider systems (document production, ERP, customer/agent portals).
  • Advanced analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and solid understanding of SDLC and scaled agile.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitation, presentation, and negotiation
