Software Configuration and Release Management Engineer
Rate: £320 - £340 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Manchester (80% onsite/20% remote)
Duration: Until July 2027
We're seeking a Software Configuration & Release Management Engineer to manage software releases, configuration control, and CI/CD processes within a complex Financial Services environment.
This role will be responsible for coordinating application and infrastructure releases, maintaining release governance, supporting deployment automation, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated technology landscape.
Essential Skills & Experience- Proven experience in Configuration Management and Release Management.
- Strong knowledge of source control, branching strategies, and release governance.
- Experience managing releases across complex enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Mandatory experience within Financial Services, Banking, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Custody Banking, or other regulated financial environments.
- Experience with change management and audit-controlled delivery processes.
- Strong stakeholder management, planning, and communication skills.
Technical Skills
Experience with some of the following:
- Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
- Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, GitLab CI/CD
- ServiceNow Change Management
- AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Terraform, Ansible
- PowerShell, Bash, or Python
