Their success is built on deep industry knowledge, technical excellence, and the ability to solve some of the most complex business challenges faced by commodity trading teams. They are looking for a problem-solving Business Analyst Graduate to join the team - as part of their Product & Delivery function, you'll work alongside experienced analysts and software developers, helping shape the systems that underpin mission-critical trading operations. Job description - Graduate Business Analyst As a Trainee / Graduate Business Analyst, you will work within experienced and skilled software development teams on the ongoing development and maintenance of our software products. You may also be required to work on-site at client locations alongside their internal software development teams. A business analyst is required to work closely with business users to analyse complex business problems and formulate process and software solutions to those problems as necessary. This work includes the functional specification, design, and testing of those solutions and participation in testing and quality assurance activities, and delivery to the business users.You will be taught these skills over time, working and mentored by seasoned Business Analyst professionals within the company.  Please note, you will be required to work from the client offices during ongoing projects, which will be based in Central London. This will be on a hybrid basis.  Key responsibilities - Trainee Business Analyst In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Working closely with business users to analyse complex business problems and gather functional requirements.
  • Translating user needs into clear functional specifications and solution designs.
  • Participating in software testing and quality assurance processes.
  • Conducting detailed functional testing to ensure solutions meet requirements and are free of defects.
  • Supporting the design, documentation, and delivery of new product features.
  • Collaborating with software developers to clarify requirements and ensure alignment.
  • Learning the core workflows of energy trading and how the software supports them.
  • Contributing to internal product knowledge through documentation and process mapping.
  • Providing support to business users during deployment and post-implementation stages.
  • Working on-site with clients when required as part of project delivery teams.
  • Ad hoc Business Analysis projects and responsibilities as required.
Job requirements - Business Analyst
  • Graduate from university with a 2:1 or above 
  • Any prior exposure to software testing or business analysis is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Commercial office based experience in a relevant field is advantageous. 
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High motivation, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Strong numerical and mathematical capability.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within close-knit teams.
  • Flexibility to work from client sites when required.
  • Willingness to occasionally support client work outside London or overseas (agreed case-by-case).
