Business Change Manager

The Role

  • We're recruiting for a Business Change Manager to join a growing PMO function within a large, multi-site organisation.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a hands on change professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, building relationships and making a tangible difference to how a business operates.
  • A significant portfolio of transformation projects underway, you'll play a key role in ensuring change is not only delivered successfully but understood, adopted and embedded across the organisation.
  • Working directly with the Head of Senior Leadership, you'll be the organisation's dedicated Business Change Manager, giving you the autonomy to shape change management processes, influence stakeholders and establish effective ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and embed a structured, practical approach to business change management across the organisation.
  • Establish and maintain a business-wide change impact heatmap, providing visibility of how transformation initiatives affect operational teams and services.
  • Conduct change impact assessments and operational readiness reviews, identifying potential risks, challenges and barriers to adoption.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, operational leadership and senior stakeholders to support the successful delivery of transformation programmes.
  • Engage with frontline teams across a geographically dispersed business, understanding how changes will impact their day-to-day activities.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, manage differing perspectives and help build agreement around new processes and ways of working.
  • Support the implementation and adoption of new business systems, digital solutions and operational processes.
  • Map and review existing business processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop change communication, engagement and training plans, ensuring colleagues have the knowledge and support needed to adopt change.
  • Work alongside the PMO Benefits Manager to ensure changes deliver measurable and sustainable business improvements.
  • Manage and prioritise change activities across a varied portfolio of projects, balancing competing business and operational requirements.

Experienced Required

  • Approximately 3-4 year's experience in business change, organisational transformation or operational improvement.
  • A recognised change management qualification, such as APMG Change Management, Prosci, CCMP or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering change impact assessments, operational readiness activities and change adoption initiatives.
  • A strong understanding of project and programme delivery, including how change management operates within a PMO environment.
  • Experience working closely with operational teams, ideally across multiple locations or a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to engage everyone from frontline employees to senior executives.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, managing challenging conversations and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • The ability to work independently, take ownership and manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Experience with business process mapping and improvement, ideally with an understanding of BPMN or UML methodologies.
  • A practical, adaptable approach to change management, with the ability to tailor methods to different audiences and levels of digital capability.

Advantageous

  • Experience within healthcare, social care or another operationally focused, multi-site environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics CRM, (url removed) or similar business transformation platforms would also be beneficial.
  • Above all, we're looking for someone approachable, collaborative and confident who can build relationships, understand operational challenges and bring people along on the change journey.
