Role Overview
Two contract Data Scientists (1 senior, 1 mid-level) are needed ASAP to join an AI engineering team on a 6-month contract, with potential to extend into more strategic work. You will build and deploy data science solutions on AWS or GCP, and experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) is essential. The role is London-based (SW), hybrid, with 1-2 days on-site per week. Active SC clearance is mandatory, and applicants without it cannot be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy data science solutions on AWS or GCP, following best practice for both new and existing solutions.
- Build, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
- Work hands-on with serverless and data services such as S3, Glue, and Lake Formation (AWS) or Cloud Functions, BigQuery, and Data Fusion (GCP).
- Integrate native cloud services with third-party solutions using cloud networking, and apply security best practices across cloud environments.
- Deliver within an Agile team, using Python and DevOps approaches from local development through to production.
Top 5 Skills
- Active SC clearance: Currently held and shareable (essential).
- AWS and/or GCP: Proven experience in either ecosystem, including serverless and data services.
- Data science with MCP: Hands-on data science experience alongside MCP.
- Python and DevOps: Strong Python ecosystem knowledge, plus Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices supported by Python.
- Containers and Agile delivery: Comfortable with Docker, some exposure to orchestration tools, and experience in Agile delivery teams.
Contract Details:
- Rate: £400 Outside IR35
