Senior Electrician - Data Centre (UP TO £100k)

Strategic Leadership & Operations
- Lead the end-to-end operational management of data centres and supporting infrastructure.
- Drive strategic planning, design, and implementation of capacity and resiliency initiatives to meet current and future business needs.
- Partner with Managed Services, Networks, and IT teams to ensure alignment with contractual SLAs and uptime expectations.
- Implement and continuously improve robust operational processes aligned with industry best practices and standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing infrastructure operations team, ensuring 24/7 coverage and continuous skills growth.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture that supports innovation and personal development.
- Lead recruitment, performance reviews, and succession planning activities.
Infrastructure Management
- Oversee all preventative and corrective maintenance across multiple critical sites.
- Ensure all sites and services are efficiently maintained, with timely remediation of issues.
- Administer third-party service agreements (generators, UPS, batteries, etc.) ensuring service levels are met.
- Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance.
Governance, Compliance & Security
- Develop, implement, and audit security programs including emergency response, crisis management, physical security, and incident handling.
- Ensure full compliance with local legislation, ISO standards, and health, safety, environmental regulations.
- Embed security, patch management, and access controls into daily operations.
- Maintain and evolve business continuity and disaster recovery plans for infrastructure operations.
Customer, Partner & Commercial Engagement
- Support business development by providing technical input on off-island hosting and managed network opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and government bodies.
- Represent the Data Centre function in cross-functional project teams to ensure seamless delivery of new services and initiatives.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources across suppliers, contracts, and internal teams.
- Conduct investment analysis and provide strategic recommendations for infrastructure improvements and partnerships.
Required Experience & Skills
- 15+ years’ experience in telecoms, IT infrastructure, and data centre M&E operations, design, and buildouts.
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-site critical infrastructure and high-availability environments.
- Strong knowledge of data centre electrical and mechanical systems, ITIL processes, and facilities management.
- Experience with ISO standards (27001, 9001, 45001, 14001), and Tier III design principles.
- Familiarity with BMS, firewalls, access systems, and energy-efficient technologies.
- Understanding of cooling, airflow, and sustainability in data centre environments.
- Working knowledge of local (Isle of Man/UK) regulatory and building compliance.
